Favorite Face Oils for Summer
Is it necessary to switch up your face oil in the summer? Nah, probably not. But if you are looking for a change then the warm summer months are the perfect time to seek out an oil with soothing, protecting, and sebum-balancing ingredients. Additionally, it’s always nice to provide your skin with new nutrients from time to time. (In the same way that we are told to eat the rainbow, fuel your skin with a kaleidoscope of high quality, nutrient-dense oils!)
There are so many fantastic face oils on the market, but here are a few of my top picks:
de Mamiel Summer Oil – There are a number of reasons that I love this oil for summer. For starters, it was crafted with the demands of summer in mind. It also contains one of my very favorite UV-shielding oils: prickly pear. Couple that with flower essences meant to balance the frenetic energy of summer and you have the perfect face oil for taking on warm weather.
MOSS Clear Resolution – Where to start with this oil. I absolutely adore the rosy scent, but what I love most is the depth of knowledge that went into crafting this oil. The carrier oils were specifically chosen for their high-linoleic content and lightweight feel. (Anyone who has done research on acne knows that this skin type is deficient in linoleic acid.) Like I said: thoughtful, velvety, and all around stunning.
CAMP Yin Yang Facial Oil – It’s pink! And comprised of yummy watermelon seed, cherry kernel, and pomegranate oils. Sounds good enough to eat. But it’s even better for slathering over skin! I highly recommend this oil for all skin types during the hot, humid months.
Laurel Facial Serum: Balance – This oil has so many great things going for it, but I especially adore the addition of healing herbs and plants linked to sun protection. With ingredients like calendula, tamanu, and red raspberry seed, this facial oil ticks all of the right boxes: soothing, check; healing, check; protecting, check.
Province Apothecary + Seed to Serum Balancing & Correcting Serum – Okay, I might be a little biased on this one, but I love the ingredients that Julie chose to incorporate in this blend. Argan and black cumin seed are just beautiful for sensitive skin and frankincense, myrrh, turmeric, and immortelle are perfect for keeping acne and its related dark marks in check!
Odacite A Spring in Tokyo – You will absolutely ADORE the scent and texture of this oil. It’s a floral, citrusy dream! And with oils like camellia seed, sacha inchi, and hazelnut, A Spring in Tokyo is ideal for battling both acne and signs of aging. Layer this under your favorite sunscreen for added protection from the elements.
Mahalo Vitality Elixir – Can you say Polynesian tamanu oil? Vitality Elixir is a luscious oil perfect for dry skin types seeking a little balance during the summer. It contains nourishing chia, anti-inflammatory turmeric, and time-stopping Coenzyme Q10. The combination of exotic, skin-compatible ingredients leaves skin with a megawatt glow.
