Transition To Spring + A GIVEAWAY

by Megan Schwarz | March 20, 2015 | 40 Comments

Light breezes, chirping birds, blooming flowers – oh how I love the first signs of Spring. Though I adore Fall, I find Spring to be the most inspiring! Out with the dreary, cold, short days, and in with the bright, fresh, warm(ish) days just brimming with life and possibilities.

This glorious shifting of seasons often brings the need to reevaluate our skincare regimen. Below are some common springtime conundrums and a few quick fixes:

Protect Thyself From The Wind
Spring breezes can often feel like gale force winds. This can result in chapping, redness, and just general ruddiness. When this occurs, seek out balms to protect, hydrate, and comfort. Smooth a gentle, healing balm over your sensitive cheeks, nose, lips, hands, and anywhere else just begging for a little TLC.

Here are a few of my picks:

Laurel Healing Face & Body Balm
AS.AP Lip Balm #9
Indah Organics Raw Asset Hand & Body Balm

Banish Redness
Tis the season for allergies, redness, and other sensitivities. Now is the time to seek out products that soothe redness and reduce irritation. Look for creamy, gentle cleansers that glide over skin without tugging or pulling, toners that contain ingredients to comfort and quiet the skin, nutrient-dense serums that address inflammation and signs of irritation, and delicate, nourishing moisturizers that promote tissue repair and reduce redness.

Here are a few of my picks:
Jacqueline Evans Castile Cream Cleanser
Soul Sunday Tokai Aloe Facial Mist
Laurel Facial Serum: Anti-inflammatory
AS.AP Face Cream #5

Reestablish Rituals
Though New Years resolutions tend to get the most attention, Spring is the time to set goals and reestablish rituals that may have been forgotten over the winter months. Remember to exfoliate and detox with a clay mask during times of transition. These rituals will help to clear congestion and bring back that long lost glow. You may find that once or twice a week for both is perfect, or you may find that less is more. Just be sure to establish a ritual and stick to it for the best results. And don’t forget your eye cream! This step is probably the most forgotten. Now is the time to remedy this and give those peepers the attention that they deserve!

Here are a few of my picks:
de Mamiel Brightening Cleanse & Exfoliate
The Little Alchemist Cacao & Banana Face Glow
African Botanics Resurrection Eye Cream

Brighten Up Your Makeup
So this might not be entirely necessary, but it’s fun and just makes you feel good. Add a little bronzer to those cheeks and a few swipes of your favorite pick-me-up, bright pink lipstick!

Here are a few of my picks:
Kjaer Weis Desired Glow
Nudus Survivor
