Gut Booster Smoothie

As I've mentioned many times before, I'm intrigued and very much obsessed with improving my gut microbiome! The more fermented foods that I can get into my diet, the better. Why? Healthy gut flora means healthy skin, healthy hormones, and so much more! 

I start every morning with a probiotic and more recently, I've begun incorporating gut boosting goodness into my smoothies too! (Adapted from The Roasted Root)

Gut Booster Smoothie

  • 3/4 cup full fat, grass fed kefir
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk (in the box, not the can)
  • handful of baby kale
  • chunk of ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 2 tsp raw honey
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup frozen strawberries (or ice!) 

Toss all of the ingredients in a blender and blend, blend, blend! 

As an aside, STOP taking antibiotics for your skin. Right now!
